Lets see can we put this one to bed Fact ; Peter will be a BIG loss to the panel this year no doubt but he did not lose his place over the amount of points he would have got ,had the points for inter county games been still in place HE KNEW THAT THE POINTS WERE GONE AFTER THIS YEARS AGM at the Leinsters this year he won a total of 4 games which he would have got 4 POINTS Inter county games always carried 1 point for a win dont know where the two points came out of lack of understanding of points system i guess .At the inter counties in Castlebar from the info i have he won 2 games that would have given him a total of 6 points and with the 4 he had he would have had 10 [ at an outside chance 9 ] The up shot of all this is that if you do not attend enough of the ranking events during the early part of the year you are placing yourself under immence presure to get points at the end and this is why Peter paid the ultimate price I said at AGM 2010 THAT ANYBODY WHO PLAYS FOR THEIR COUNTY should get a ranking point for every game they win in the Round Robin stages. This will be going in at the AGM this year again and also for the B Team players AS FOR THE PANEL THIS YEAR EVERYTHING AND BODY IS/ARE LOOKING GOOD FOR NEXT YEARS 2011 CAMPAIGN EVERYBO0DY WHO MADE THE PANEL DESERVES TO BE THERE ON MERIT
one thing ye are all over looking if peter hat of got points fron last year so would everybody else and the cut off for the top 20 would have been 15 points minimum so he still wouldnt have been close. prove yourself over the year and make the team its simple and dont miss ranking events ya cant afford to if ya need points. were trying to get more people playin in more ranking events to cover the cost of all irelands ,,,,
